AKC Canine Good Citizen
Wild River Kennels can test and train dogs for their CGC title. In order to receive this title all dogs MUST be registered with AKC ( see https://www.akc.org/register/ for registration details).
Your dog doesn’t have to be a purebred dog, ALL dogs can participate in this test. Here are the requirements that dogs must do to receive a PASS. (Source AKC.org)
- Accept a Friendly Stranger.
- Sit Politely for Petting.
- Appearance and Grooming.
- Out for a Walk.
- Walking Through a Crowd.
- Sit/Down on Command/Staying in Place.
- Coming When Called.
- Reaction to Another Dog.
- Reaction to Distractions.
- Supervised Separation.
If you believe that your dog can pass all these tests on a flat buckle collar and clip leash, contact us. Kiira is a certified AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator that can test for CGC, Trick dog and hold AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy courses. Each dog will receive a small ribbon at the end of their passed tests. (Testing rates do apply).
